Joseph Cafaro is Special Referral Counsel* to Salpietro Law Office’s Wills, Estate Planning, and Estate Administration clients, and is the owner of Cafaro Law Office, located in the North Hills area of Pittsburgh. Joe graduated from Duquesne University School of Law in 1994. He graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1990 with Bachelor of Science from the College of Business.

Prior to law school, Joe began his legal career as a judicial extern to the Honorable William F. Cercone of the Superior Court of Pennsylvania. During law school, he served as tipstaff to the Honorable I. Martin Wekselman of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. From 1994 through 2002, he served as the law clerk to Senior Judges: Nathan Schwartz, Warren Watson, James McLean, George Ross, Robert Dauer, and James McGregor, all of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. In addition, he served as a temporary special master on the Board of Viewers, hearing property assessment appeals.

For twelve years, Joe practiced with the Pittsburgh firm of Cooper Owen & Renner, P.C. His experience covers a broad range of matters, including estate/trust fiduciary litigation, as well as estate planning and administration. Joe has represented businesses and business owners, in a wide variety of matters including contract negotiations, business acquisitions, property development, and personnel matters. He also has counseled landlords and tenants, in lease formation and eviction proceedings.

In addition to his Wills and Estates practice, Joe provides general day-to-day business counsel for his clients, and acts as a strategic business counselor to clients considering crucial business transactions or long-term investments.
Joe is admitted to the practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
